Auto livewell question

I'm not sure about this auto livewell. With it set to auto, will it pump water in on its own or do I have to manually pump fresh water in.

My livewells seem to slowly drain while on the lake with it set to auto so I have to pump in water ever so often.

Took it home and filled up livewells and set to auto and the livewells drained slowly. Turn off the power swtich and the water drains much faster.

With it set to recirculate no water drained ever.

When in poor quality water run the valve on recirc and the pump on manual

When in good quality water put the valve on auto and the pump on auto

When in good quality warm/hot water put the valve on auto and the pump on manual

Should water be pumped in by itself when it is set to Auto?

Auto will leak slowly. You must run a pump any time except when the valve is on recirc.

I had the valve on recirc the other day when I brought our jr bassmasters to weigh in. All the water leaked out of the livewells. How can I keep water in the livewells while on the trailer?

If it leaked on recirc the little valve is obstructed. Sometimes you can flush it out. If not it needs to be replaced.

From reading the info at flow-rite this doesn't seem right. It says that the water will run out the over flow when on auto. Mine just leaks out slowly. So if I have it on auto I must be pumping water in that entire time?

Is there any way that I can pump water in on a timer or on auto or something?

My skeeter had timers so that you dont have to constantly go back there and check water levels, then pump water in, the go back and turn the pump off. You could have it pump water in, and set it to pump in for 1 minute every 1 up to 15 minutes and same with re-circulate.

I don't have allot of time in my boat with the livewells, but if both are set to auto and the livewell recirculates and pumps water in then shuts them both off for 2 minutes that would be great. Don't think it does that though

You should have two pumps for the livewell, a fill which is on the bottom then a switch that says Auto Man on top. Auto is a pump setting that goes one min and one min off. The auto should leak when pressure is equalized (off plane). Due to the livewells being close to the water line, you should never lose a lot of water even if the pumps not working. Unless if they leak on plane.

Try putting the valve on auto, and the pump to auto see what happens.

If that doesn't work, go in the starboard livewell at the stern side and push the valve in, your pump may on pumpout mode.

If that doesn't work, make sure the pump is not airlocked or has trash in it

If that doesn't work, make sure the pump is working when the switch is on, if not it will trip a switch and the pump light should blink.

If it blinks switch cartridges with the livewell fill (remember to switch wring too) and see if the livewell fill switch blinks, if it does it is the cartridge.

If not it is the switch/brainbox.

After the pump is out of cartridge, flush out the valve with some pressured water (garden hose on stream) and have a buddy move the valve back and forth till it moves with ease. You will eat water if the spray back is right.

You can do it at a dump station with the hose there.

Well, I'm an idiot.... I was working the valvle back and forth and broke the dern knob. Anybody have an idea how much those are?

They are $15.80. I just ordered one as I broke mine off too.

Would a pressure washer be too much pressure

Either way, when I set both the acutator and the switch to auto, I still have to go back there and maually pump in fresh water. Is this not the case for the rest of you?

Flow-rite has gotten back to me, and when it is set to auto it shall recirculate and also pump fresh lake water in using the same pump and should not have to use the auxiliary pump. Its likely that my pump is clogged, malfunctioning, or not big enough.
