I buy a bag of multi-colored rubber bands. When I catch the first keeper I put a red rubber band on it and write down the weight. Next fish a different color. For a couple of bucks ... I can cull a thousand fish and I can pull the old one off when they are released. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Ok, I'll bite. Where do you put the rubber band on the fish? It sounds like a cool idea but I'm having trouble visualizing.

My guess would be in front of the tail. It would have to be loose enough to not hurt the fish and tight enough to not slip off by itself though.

I double wrapped some elastics on my xtools tags . Makes them very tight none have came off since doing this and I don't have to puncture the fish.

I bought foam golf balls from Walmart. IV tubing from my job and used the attachment from the old culling system. Works great.

I have only been using the "clips" that attach to the lip of a fish. I find more times than not they come unclipped especially if the fish decides to make a round trip of the livewell. Then if i go to cull its like, well which one goes with which, and it defeats the purpose.

I have been trying to stay away from the metal clips that actually puncture the fishes lip and clips on. Now, something like this is foolproof for coming off. But im partial to the idea of punching a whole in the fish to tag it.

What do you guys find to be the best?

    Thanks in advance!
Well....if you are in fact partial to the idea of punching a hole in the mouth of a fish.....that means you are for it...as in like the idea.
