    81.1 gps in a Sterling

Yes 81 mph in a sterling with a razor 4 27p prop. Now that's flat out hauling in a 22 foot boat

Wow, the SHO puts up the biggest 250 number thus far on a Sterling

Re: 81.1 gps in a Sterling (TheDuke)

numbers are subjective to a lot of variables....i have seen the sho in action, and its a strong motor..but loaded to fish it may be 1 mph faster than the merc..just saying...a loaded sterling wont run 83...with either engine....i have been in 2 sterling /sho combos, that run 80 to 81...LOADED....with what i consider a pretty light load..speed is subjective to the weight of the load....

So I am curious as to why the Sterling/Gambler grew to be so FAT? Really Gents 1900? What happened? LD maybe you could shed some light on this......

    Re: 81.1 gps in a Sterling (herk91)

for one thing...its the biggest boat they have ever built...plus the flotation in the re designed, much bigger rear deck...all this adds to a couple hundred pounds pretty quick...it weighs about the same as a 20 to 21 foot ranger...for the boat to exceed the 80 mph mark with a 250 is for sure proof that this may be gamblers fastest hull design....
and i think i been talking about the razor for a while on this boat...its a really good match....
