1998 Intimidator in boats for sale

Hello Gambler guys,

Any thoughts on the 1998 Intimidator in the boats for sale section? Asking $4500, motor dropped a piston. Boat looks really clean from the other pics the seller has sent to me, carpet a bit rough but not bad, trailer looks good with a little rust on the jack and winch areas.

I'm in Illinois, trying to get my dad who is in Ohio about 1.5 hours away to go look at it but he's dragging his feet. Seller has someone going to look at it Saturday.

Thinking I could pick this boat up, then sell my super clean 1986 Stratos 189v to pay for the motor repair/replace. Would only be putting $4k out of pocket and would have a Gambler that's 12 years newer.

Which brings another question - what's the max HP on a 1998 Intimidator?

Max H.P. should be 225, atleast that is what it says on the Gambler website, just not sure if that include all years of the Intimidator.

Earlier model Intimadators (98 and older) are rated for 200 only. Boat looks like a great buy!!

My 91' 206 was rated for 235 HP. I have a 200 on there though.

My 1993 Intimidator is rated for a 300X

Thanks for the input guys! If the first buyer in line doesn't buy it tomorrow I'm next in line and pretty confident I will buy it provided it is as appears.

is it an intimidator or intimidator 2000? If it is a 2000, its rated for 235hp

It's an Imitidator 2000. Saturday's buyer wanted it but didn't have their money in place so my dad is making the drive for me to check it out. If all looks as stated then I should be the owner of a new to me Intimidator.

Going to be a restless night and morning until I hear from my dad LOL. Been wanting a Gambler for years, even named a dog Gambler back in the day. Been through a lot of nice boats through the years and through downsizing now with kids, so the opportunity to get into a Gambler now, even a 1998, is pretty exciting.

I know the feeling. I was in the same situation your in. just got mine a month ago. Took it for my first real ride Saturday. Your gonna loooove it. Great boats!!!!

Not finished rigging yet. Been helping friends and family with all the Forest fires.
