    Evinrude 200 carb update & re-jet

I have read where to avoid problems on the Evinrude 200's carb models that there are some changes/updates that should be made. Like re-jetting # 2 carb & replacing a o ring in the carb ? I have a 1997 Evinrude 200 Oceanpro model # E200TXEUA serial # G04307226. Could someone please tell me what is needed and part #'s & easy steps on how to do it. Thanks,,

Pull a drain plug any drain plug, check the bowl side, if it is smooth then you will need to replace it with the new style drain plug that has a "tit" on the end of it. You will also need to remove the #2 high speed orifice and check the stamping on the side of it. You will need to order one 2 sizes bigger. For example if it is a .062 you would order a .064 for replacement. Use a #2 flat blade screwdriver or best yet an orifice driver to remove and re-install.

Go on the marfab web sight and go to there shop talk section. This block had cooling problems from the factory rejetting # 2 is really the only thing you can do without a total tear down to modify cooling passages in the block. To late for me my engine just swallowed a ring locating pin i guess the only think you can do is maybe not run it so hard.Allthogh it is a 2 stroke once they are broken in right you should be able to drive them like you stole it i guess i did all right for 15 years.

Sam don't feel bad the motor has lasted 15 years with out going down and out. You are only on the canvas for a few seconds in the 10 count. You didn't put a connecting rod through the side. Yours can be repaired at a resonable price and give you more years of service.

Re: Evinrude 200 carb update & re-jet (pappastratos)

Yep, you replace the drain plugs and the O rings that go over them and seal the carb bowl. You order the orifice by part number. Tell us what you have and we'll post the part number for ya. Nothing top secret just too many numbers to put out there for all different sizes. The charts are in the factory manual if you have one. The #2 carb is the top left carb facing the carbs.

The O-Ring # is 305379, 6ea., Plug # is 344267-6ea. & here are some jet #'s: 65D-327541, 67D-319534, 68D-333211, 69D-327558, 70D-327769, 71D-327559, 72D-328546. Before putting the new plugs in, make sure that the jets are tight, mine were a couple of turns loose. Hope this helps.

WOW, you guys are great !! thanks for all the valuable info, I can not see how more fuel would make a cyl. cooler,, seems like more fuel would be more combustion & more heat !!!
