How fast should my 19' outlaw go with a 150 optimax. I've adjusted the jackplate and the fastest I can get it to go is 53mph at 4800 rpm with a water pressure of 16. What should the water pressure be? Any ideas?

Sounds like a fouled plug or similar.

Has the linkage been checked to make sure the motor is going to full throttle?
Better not be a fouled plug since they were replaced 2 weeks ago. It could be that the trottle isn't being fully engaged. I have the hotfoot to the floor. I've trimmed it all over the place and adjusted the jackplate and just can't reach faster than 53. There is still a lot left in the motor since it is only 4700 to 4800 rpm. How do I check to ensure the throttle is being fully engaged?
