    Oil injection

Need some help from you guys. I have a 1999 johnson 130hp motor. First outboard I've owned that I do not have to mix oil. That's has me worried. All you guys trust that unit or do you disconnect and mix? If you disconnect and mix, how do you go about doing that. Boat has two tanks, mix up in 5 gallon batches? owners manual mentions warning if you loss oil but I never was one that trusted lights and buzzer. What are you guys doing?
    Thanks in advance.

I have been running them since 1986 and I trust them, I have never had a problem.

    Re: Oil injection (SEAHORSE)

I started worrying this weekend that my oil injection has not been putting enough oil in my 92 150 Johnson. The tank doesn't seem to go down as fast as the gas tank. I have been hearing a little noise from the engine and it struck me Saturday that maybe its been running with not enough oil.

That article makes me feel somewhat better...I've been thinking about adding some oil in th egas just for added precaution.

I have a 92 40HP Tracker/Johnson Motor and my oil injection system has worked great and I have never had a problem. I took the boat in to see about a new prop and the mechanic suggested I add a bit of oil to the gas just to be safe as it will not hurt but will save my engine if the oil injection ever fails.

I could be wrong but I think I read on here where the 40 hp was the only ones that gave any trouble???? Seahorse, Rick, John,Rudey. Am I off base here??? I think it was the older ones.but will someone clarify for this 92 40hp.
FishinFan post your model and serial #'s for they guys.

I don't have them off hand but it is a Tracker/Johnson motor. It is still the original motor from the boat and she runs great. I have had the boat for 3 years now and have not had one issue with it. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will put it here for you all to see. The only problem is the skeg is kind of in bad shape but it still runs perfect. I'll probably buy one of those sharkfin to repair the skeg but other than that I haven't had any issues.
