Howdy ya'll,
I have a questiong about the settings of my jackplate. On my 91 GT183 I have a 95 Yam ProV 6cyl 2stroke direct
injection 150. The prop that is on it now is a 25. I was hoping to find out if anyone could tell me what I can set my jackplate at to recieve optimal performance? The Jackplate does still have all the numbers on the sides for setting it. I'd appreciate it if you folks can help me or lead me to someone or a site that can help thanks a million.

Ok what all measurements should i take? and when i measure the prop to the pad do i do it tilt/trimmed all the way down or?? and at what points on each to i measure from??? thanks want to set it up right seems to be fairly good as is no sky hi rooster tails or any thing
Level the trailer, then lower the motor so that the cavitation plate is level with the bottom of the boat.
Measure from the ground up to the pad of the hull, then measure from the ground to the center of the propshaft. The difference will be how many inches the propshaft is below the pad.

If my measurements are correct by that webpages definitions anyhow. my prop shaft is 6" below my pad and the bottom of the motor bracket or whatever is about 2,1/2 inches about transom. and the motor bolts up about 5,1/2 inches off the back of the actual transom.
