    Need opinion

The factory trim tabs measure approx. 19L x 9W. I have me some templates and have been mocking up and measuring for some tabs. I am pretty much set on the minnkotas. The minnkotas design seem to incorporate a greater lift. Since I haven't drove a boat with trim tabs only rode in one. And after talking with others some say that the factory trim tabs do help hole shot but that its still not great. I am trying to decide which size to buy. I am stuck between two sizes 18L x 9w or 18L x 12w. Which do yall think? Can holeshot be improve even more with a 3in wider tab. Or should I just hope the MK design will be the ticket. Only thing that I am really worried about is the turned down section at the back. It will create more lift but will the splash off the boat still hit that part even when there fully retracted?? If it does then that will cause a drag issue and possibly could cause it to porpus I think?? I need some opinions here fellas.

When retracted, I believe your tabs will be plenty high enough and be a non-issue.

If you are going with two tabs the 18x9 is what I would go with but if you are going with the one like you and I talked about then I would go with the 18x12.. I think the turn down would make the bow lower instead of higher because it will be forcing the water down making the stern higher and the bow lower.. The tab should be completely out of the way fully retracted with the boat running on the pad..

    Re: Need opinion (carolina killer)

Terry I have just about decided to go with two. That way if I ever needed them for rough water they'd be there. The single big tab under the jack would only be effective for hole shot and would never touch the water again till you sit it down. So yall think the 9 x 18 will be ok? I am prolly going to order in the morning. I am really wanting to get the holeshot down a little faster on this pro et.

Matt, if your hull has the cut outs, whatever you go with should help. If you have the older hull before the tab cutouts, you might be wasting your time. I tried the tab setup on my 87 and it had almost no improvement. The foil was the best improvement. Lee NJ
