I did a 3' section of the top cap to remove some deep scratches that were caused by sliding an ice chest on the boat. I cringed when I saw the guy I was rescuing do it. Some people just don't get it.

Anyhow, I invested in a Sears buffer and went to it. I wet sanded using only the 2000 grit paper. Keeping it wet, I sanded in a fore/aft motion. Then rinsed and used the polishing wheel w/ 3M rubbing compound. Followed that up w/ Meguiar's Carnuba #26. It's back to looking like glass!
