This information is incorrect. I bought an update card and found out you cannot update a platinum card.

How old is your Platinum card?

I have renewed my Platinum card subscription twice since I got it.

I think what the deal is, is you can update your platinum card through navionics.com, but you cannot activate the updates card with a platinum chip. Navionics confrimed that bass pro's description is incorrect. I'm not trying to be argumentative at all, just trying to help others out if they're in the same situation.

The 16 GB cards can be updated directly.
