Is there anyone at the plant

To get parts from? I need some of the black plastic cups that go down in the pedastal holes.

Re: Is there anyone at the plant (King Cobra)

King Cobra is correct. The plant is not open for business. There are only 2 people currently working at the plant (Terry-VP & Lauri-Sec.) who are trying to wade through the mess that "Chip" has created (bills, bounced checks, etc.) in an effort to determine just exactly what Cobra's liabilities are, if indeed any of this will fall on their shoulders. All kinds of law suits have been filed against this guy and they're all lined up waiting for their chance at him. Problem is...the guy's so broke he can't pay attention. Sue him all you want, there's nothing to get...he owns nothing and has nothing.

Tom, you will have to contact Springfield Marine Co. for those cups. If you have the "Taper lock" pedestals (about 1.77" dia. with a button on the side and pin/hook on the bottom), Springfield is the company that makes them. It is a proprietary design.

They sell a kit to replace the cup that includes the cup, a liquid adhesive, and a wooden driver to seat the cup in the hole. If I remember correctly (I did mine this past spring), the kit is about $12.00 + shipping. Their phone number is 1-417-725-2667. You can go to their website at: http://www.springfieldgrp.com.
    God luck,

Thanks, Larry. I've been a member since Al fired this site up, just haven't posted. I come here all the time to keep abreast of the goings-on at the plant. Like everyone else, hoping for a positive outcome. I'll throw my one-and-a-half cents in when I have something worthwhile to offer.

Thanks Vince. I was looking at that site yesterday. I'm just not sure if I have the lock slot on the front pedastal. I'll try and check this weekend.

Re: Is there anyone at the plant (TomM)

My plastic cups have been coming out with the pedestal for the last year or so. I was going to try to fix it, but the seats sure come out easier than they did when the cups stayed in the boat.

North wind 10-20, freezing rain forecast until noon tomorrow, high of 37.......and the first of five team trail tournaments.

I'll look like I am ready to go snow skiing instead of fishing!

Mine did that too, but eventually, they got so worn that the seat flops around in the hole now. :)

Re: Is there anyone at the plant (VinceR)

several months back I ordered the inserts for my 98
Cobra. For what ever reason I mentioned I was a Viet Nam veteren and I was told the shipping would be covered. Sent a post in at that time but thought I would mention it again.

EtcViper, I sent you an IM just now. I graduated from Oswego in 63 and was a Vietnam Vet also.

Etecviper, did you order from the plant or from Springfield? It's still been to cold to go pulling the cover off the boat and checking the hole for the lock tab.
