The all new Charger wide body

Get ready I will have pics soon, heres what I know for now.
    Super wide front deck
New hull design,it will have less of a sharp V and and a new running pad.It will be very fast and still handle rough water.some where around mid 80's with a 225
The length is around 20ft and change, super wide around 85 inch in front of the console.
Removable consoles and big with lots of wind protection.
    Unlimited horsepower rating.
A little lighter than the 496
This will be a new model, you can still get the 296,396,496 and 596
This boat will be for the fast crowd and still ride good.
And I think it is going to come in at a very attractive price.

This is all I have for now, more to come they have been super busy building boats so this is a work in progress thing, but trying to get it done.

It's hard to wait for this! Yes, Joe says they are slightly taking out a little depth in front, (maybe only an inch or so) & they will do more testing as soon as it's ready & they hang a 225 Pro XS on it.

the rear will look like Drews 2010 396 ,other than that its wider at the front (bigger deck) less of a deep hull in the front and removable big consoles.Cant wait for the pics.

    Me too.

I've heard several rumors of why they're going away from the wedge hull. Does anyone have any insite on this? I've heard USCG, Chargers looking for a change ect. Just curious.

Charger may never change there current hull design, they are however just building another model. It may not ride quite as well or as fast in the rough, but be faster in average waters.

    Re: (Backbassin)

Heres the problem with Chargers, they were built for Lake of the ozarks, you can not run 80 on that lake ,about 35 is all you are going to do in the average boat ,with the Chargers you will be able to run 50 (unless it is 530 in the morning) because of the deep V,so Charger decided to make the boat run real good in the very rough stuff, most guys will never see a lake like this.In fact I have been on a dozen big lakes and none of them get like LOZ.
So with some guys wanting to run 85 and dont fish real rough waters this new boat will be fast and still handle 80 percent of the lakes out there. It will be bigger with removable consoles, for the guys wanting single consoles.

    Re: (TOUCH OF CLASS)

I hope Charger always keeps some deep V models. I sure enjoy the smooth ride. I fish Pomme a lot and on a Sunday afternoon in the summer you will really appreciate the smooth ride. I also like to let my brother in law see how much better my Charger handles the rough stuff compared to his Cobra.

Speed is nice but not having your teeth jarred out is better.

    Re: (Roaster)

o crude those are fighting words, hope the cobra guys dont come over

Whats funny is the 195 will out ride just about any boat out there, that was there number one selling model for 20 years.I hope they go back to their roots with the newer models. It had 20 degree dead rise in the rear and a very deep V in the front that thing will flat scoot across the wave tops.I really miss mine.you get a good prop on there and it will reallly wake that hull up.

    Re: (TOUCH OF CLASS)

When do you expect pics of this. What are the specifics of the BIG consoles that are removeable---most likely you mean just the passenger console. Are the BIG consoles to allow dfor 8"-10" electronics like the HDS-8 or HDS-10.
    Any other improvements?

    Re: (Backbassin)

Any new info yet on this boat---expected release date? I may have to make a trip to Richland to see one. I am in the market and am very interested in this boat.
Had 3 chargers--then moved over to Champion when they came out with their wide bodies (206 & 210). Felt like the Champion ride was every bit as good as the Charger ride with some better fishability and storage out of the Champion due to the Wide body. Wide body--meaning carrying the beam forward further past the consoles. Now with this new intro from Charger---I am VERY interested.
Hope they have closed up the side area inside the cockpit as this was one area that still looked very dated and I know it made rigging easier--but it needs to be updated and rigging tubes used.

Re: The all new Charger wide body (TOUCH OF CLASS)

When you say very attractive price?--attractive to me is mid 30's--because that is what a 20 foot bass boat with a 225 could be had for 5 years ago. Now an attractive price is mid 40's.
I drive my 2009 Sierra everyday and it is a CC loaded Duramax. Got it for the upper 30's and remember I use it EVERYDAY---not just weekends.
All bassboat mfgs. and motor companies need to reevaluate their price structure.
Look at what Tracker marine did this year by lowering their prices, and they have sold a ton of 2010 Z-7's and Z-8's. Improved the boat from 2009 and lowered the price by almost $4K on the Z-7 and 6K on the Z-8.
