Need Help, Looking to Buy a Champ

I am looking at a 95 Champion 20 foot with a 225 Merc on it. From what the seller says the motor has been taken care of with regular services and maintain. The boat is in good shape, except for some wear on the seats. Boat has "updated Lowrance electronics", good batteries, and new trolling motor. Trailer is dual axle and in good shape. I know its not a lot of info to go on, but with what you have here, what kind of price would you see it go for? Thanks for the help. I am really looking forward to not only owning my first boat, but owning a Champion.

Don't know what your price range is, but you might call Bobs Marine in Modesto, Ca.. He has a 02 Champion 196 w/ 200 Optimax for around $13,500 that looks pretty clean # is 209-551-2165. Check Craigslist-Modesto for pics and info.

Look on craigslist, no 02 Champs. None on Bobs Marine website either. I will give them a call today. Thanks for the help guys.

I just saw that 196 on the Modesto craigslist. Its still there. Wish that boat was closer to home. Would love to get my hands on a 196.

I finaly went to look at this boat, I want to ask, is it a big red flag when you find Gel coat cracks at the Transom? This one has a big crack (12+ inches) under the champion sign in the "splash tray"? Looks like the Transom has been flexed and there is a crack from it or is this a sign that the Transom is going bad and needing to be replaced? Just wondering how seeing something like this would effect you when looking at purchasing a boat?
