How can I get my Money back from this Pain in the Side E-Tec ? I spent another 3 Hours trolling yesterday (12/26/2007) to get back to the Launch. Thank GOD for my 101 MinnKota. How many times must someone go through this before Evinrude will refund their money on this Lemon Product.

no but if you want get a lawyer and prusue it you may have a case depending on what state you live in. now I have a question for you that it seems is not asked most of the time. do you wot all the time? or do you use the motor at varied speeds and not WOT all the time. It seems to me the ones who have the most problems are the bassers who are running at WOT all the time, seems the guys with the white 25" shafts are not having as many problems since they dont run WOT all the time. Just a thought and question.

No, I do not run Wide Open Throttle all the time. In South Louisiana there is not too many places you can stay open for long periods of time. In fact the people that I bought the boat from say that the problem could be that I'm not running it hard enough.
I was just wondering if anyone out there could give any suggestions on how to get out from under this E-Tec without loosing my pants like the last Evinrude 175 I had.

I just bought a 250HO, I'd like to know just what problems you've had with your motor, is it different things or is it a persistant problem never solved?

I would call 847-689-7090. Make sure you have your engine model and serail number. You do have some claims on this enigne. I would be upset also. Have you been working with the same dealer?
Let me know what you find out about that I am the one with the post "so there I was" I would love to get back to a engine I can trust.
OEM's do not take engines back. If they do it for one person then they have to do it for everyone. There is no lemon law that I know of. Looking at your claims you had several items that went bad. It does not appear to be the same thing over and over again. You have a engine that we have not seen since the ETEC came out.
Melted pistons 2 times, 2 injectors, 1 computer block, now it's the lower unit. I've had it for 2 years now and I fish alot of Tournaments and this thing keeps breaking on me, most of the time in a Tournament and I loose my pants on entry fee's.
