Will aske a stupid question anyway (not the first time)
I have a question on my 2007 Etec 150 DFI lower unit . Losing trace amounts of lower unit gear oil from the weep hole above the water intake on the lower unit. Not much but occasionally I will see a line of fluid leaking from the hole. Probably best to take to dealer, huh? What can I expect to hear?
What you should expect to hear is it will be fixed under warranty.

Same thing happened to me. Pressure/vacuum tests didn't show anything so they replaced ALL the seals under warranty.

Did it show traces of water in the lube??? because its like a vacuum when the oil leaves water is sucked in......
chances are the upper driveshaft seals are leaking as they are in the water intake passageway and any leakage, while the motor is tilted up, will run forward and below the water pump and come out the weep (drain) hole.
With the gearcase vertical and pressure tested, the pressure pushes the seal lips tighter around the driveshaft. Your dealer should replace them under warranty.

I haven't changed the gear oil yet so I don't know if water got into the gear oil. Guess I will bring it in for repair.
