I came across a mean 15, i think? What does the mean 15 have that the 16 doesn't or vice versa? I walked the boat and it was right at 16 foot paces from tip to the transom but I have no idea, i do have a picture of the serial numbers if that would help?
A year would help. One is 16'8 and the other 15'6 (if I remember corerectly). There was a 16'1 that was labled "Mean 16" too.
The serial number will only give month and year built..and model year number. It will not give model number or dimensions.
According to the plate.the.last numbers.are.81
Need the last 4 for month and year built.. Appears to be an 81 model, but could have been built in 80. Example, my last 4 are J405. This means it was built in Oct of '04 and is an '05 model. Like cars, etc, boat models chamge mid summer...
I only have brochures from 1985 to 2009. Not sure when the first Mean 15s, etc came out..but the first one actually called that appears in the 86 brochure, and is 15'6". There's a 15'6" model in the 85 brochure, but not called "mean". Wish I had the older brochures...
Well it doesn't look like I am going to get it, i posted pics in the resto forum and the guy wants to much for what I am going to have to do. It would be a sweet boat but for 1100 its not worth it. If anyone has any leads on one that needs some work I am definitely interested.
