Not sure about the question but if you want to share the map between 2 units you need 2 Lowrance Gen2 with the software version 2.5 and newer. If it's to be use in another unit nothing special to do

They all come on a msd (micro) in a SD adaptor. The newer Gen3 from Lowrance will use the msd instead of the full size sd like youre HDS10

I have a couple of questions for the group:

    1. Currently, I have a Hotmaps Premium East Card that I am trying to update to Navionics +. I went through the process, paid my money and it took me to the screen where it says this, "We are deleting old Navionics content from your card to make room for new content, none of personal files will be removed."

It has been processing and saying this for over an hour. Is this normal and is supposed to take this long?

    2. My card has a 2G Micro SD card inserted in the back of the normal sized SD card. Can I put a more capacity Micro SD card (like a 32G) instead of the 2G so that I can have additional space to download more lakes?

    Thanks,

No, you cannot use another card since the card has the communication and map data files that cannot be copied.

When your card has been converted to Navionics+, there will be no maps on it.
Then you choose what locations to download to the card.

Thanks Wayne. Do you have any idea if is supposed to take so long to delete the old maps on the card? I let it run for over 2 hours again last night and it still never completed deleting the old maps.

No, I don't. Unless it is your internet connection/computer software. Try Google Chrome or Firefox. Some versions of IE do not talek to the Navionics servers well.

I got the Navionics+ version by purchasing the Navionics Update card.

That uses a currently owed card to activate it to make it the Navionics+ version.

I am an idiot. It works great, when you unlock the card. Thanks for the insight.

Jholland, Now that is funny!! NO ONE ever admits to doing that...Of course "I" have never done it.:)

I am in Nashville also...just got back from the Classic. I was there for Navionics and did a lot of Lowrance training as well....Worn out..Maybe run into you on the lake. I do some local events at Nashville BPS and Cabelas in Bowling Green. Nice boat!

I have a platinum E6 card and want to download the freshest data for my region (East) and I'm getting the message, card is full. What do I need to do to get the freshest data without bricking it? It's the 8 gb card. I just found that I need to give Navionics a call to get the 16gb card.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

You got it. The 8 GB can't handle all the new additional stuff.
All cards since mid 2010 are E-6 for the East region- the one you got is an older one.

I recently purchased the Hot Maps Platinum card (East). When I try to update it everything works fine until it gets to the "Community Updates", then it shuts down my Internet Explorer. I have tried several times and it did it every time. Anyone have an idea what is going on? And yes, the card is unlocked. My system is Windows 7 and using the newest version of IE 11.

What is the best way to study a map and add points to it from your PC? On the Webb app I would like to be able to break down a lake and then add points to it that I can put on my card and use once I am on the lake. I talked to Navionics at the Classic this week and they advised that if my card was in my PC I should be able to add Community Edits to my card and view them from the depthfinder. I have tried this but must be missing something as I do not see how to add Community Edits to my Cad from the PC. I know I can do this from the Navionics mobile app but I prefer not to have to do this from my cell phone.

    Thanks as always,
    Brady
