Ive used abus back to even when thr round c4 reels were big and to this day still fish abus. Your not gonna find a better longer lasting reel imo. Also keep a look on ebay they sell abus decently cheap on there and theyre new. Ive tried lews and shimano and they are good reels but dont last

I don't know how anyone could say that the Abu revo will outlast a Lews, as they are built in the same factory sharing many components...

Got 12 Lews from 1-4 years old with no problems. I still have one Revo that was a gift from my son but it's. It close to the Lews. I think they are quite different so try them both and my guess is one will just feel "right".

Started with Abu, my daughter won a Lews in a tournament. I tried it and have since changed all my reels to Lews. Smooth, light, and great to cast..

In my opinion LEWS are 10 times better than Abu Garcias ever will be and are. Lews are way better and one of the best reels out there. I love me cause I'm on a budget. I just posted this cause its a snow day and I wondered what other peoples opinions.

    This.
Different names and cosmetics but same internals. Many Bass Pro reels share the same design also.

They are the same reel. If you think the name Lews is cooler get it. If you think the name Abu is cooler get it. Parts are interchangeable. If you want to compare to a non throwaway reel, compare it to Diawa or Shimano.

I don't think the Lews and Abu reels are throwaway, and each company does spec things like bearing tolerances and other tweeks to the basic doyo design. Shimano and Diawa make excellent products, but their is nothing at all wrong with the Lews or Abu product. I switched from Shimano to lews over the last couple of years, and really like the performance of the reels, as well as the customer service advantage I feel I have from being able to walk into the Lews headquarters a few hours from my house and talk to them face to face. I can't do that with Shimano.

all the stuff on the inside is pretty much the same. that said I have had better experience with Revo's. Own 20 of them, some Gen 1's. Replace a few pawls here and there along with routine cleaning.

I have both. Revo's and Tourney MB's. Lews is much smoother and easier to adjust.
