    Front Seat Post Hole

I would like to add a 2nd seat post hole in the front on my 198. I want to go to a lean style seat with curved lumbar support. The current factory hole is a little far away from the TM. Anyone know how you would go about this?

Re: Front Seat Post Hole (lwlittle)

For the factory installed seat base, the deck is recessed in order to make up for the thickness of the seat base. They then use bondo to smooth the area where the sides of the seat base fit into the recess so that nothing shows under the carpet. I don't know how you could match that without pulling the carpet on the front deck and having a glass shop form a recess for you. You can bolt the new seat base down over the carpet and reach in thru the forward center compartment to get the nuts on the bolts. It will not look like a factory installation of course. Maybe someone else has a better idea though.
