2006 etec HO 225... purchased new in may 2006... Just fished yesterday in a tournament on champlain and the motor died 2 minutes up the lake... very sure powerhead shot... this still under warranty??
please reply for my blood pressure and peace of mind...

Your warranty will be just fine.
I FEEL YOU PAIN,
THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS BUT THIS DOESN'T HELP THE FACT THAT IT HAPPEN WITH THAT LOW OF HOURS.
You Etec guys are not instilling confidence in my mind about those engines.
Was it set on the XD100 setting or XD50?

Just something to ponder on. I have not seen anyone with a non HO having problems.
It's not just the HOs. I have a white 150 that blew 2 power heads. I also know of others.
about 85 hours on PH #3 (switched to XD50 for this one) and it seems to be doing fine.
From Canada.Have 2006 200 h.o..Powerhead went 36 hours.Dealer new before he took of the cowling,side of motor and cylinder #.Feel your pain.Have owned 5 evinrudes.First problem.Service fantastic.All taken care of in one week.Think this is a defect with 2006.
My 07 150 E-Tec (Non HO) Blew at around 8 hours. Got fast response and was back on the water in less than a week.
I am sorry you guy are having these problems. I can asure you there QC is top notch.
