    I've owned hydro sports longer than most can remember,wanted a 196 real bad when they quit making them, own a 08 201 stratos now and was talking to a long time stratos dealor the other day and his comment was the 196 was ahead of its time, you can see in its design a lot of triton etc. depending on the condition don't know if it would trump the same year 201 with a bigger engine but if it was in great shape could be worth considering, might go to the hydro sport board and talk to them.

    Also looked at your list again the evinrude and venom are sound motors the 200 merc efi is bullet proof if it was on the 196 it would be a done deal for me I had a custom made hydro sport with a 175 efi I still mis.
