Idle problems - second start.

The motor starts and runs fine until I restart after shutting it down for any length of time (fishing or swimming..).

The motor starts up and idles normally but dies immediatly upon putting in gear. If I throttle up (3500 - 4000 rpm out of gear) for about 5 minutes the problem seems to go away. (after the engine heats up???? )

The fuel system has good vent, new OEM primer, Racor, new hoses, new VRO and a thorough carb rebuild earlier this summer so I dont think it is a fuel issue. The plugs are new, gapped to .30 Fuel is good.

Any suggestions?

Yep, change to the QL78YC's and invite SeaHorse or me down for a Low Country boil and pay for one of us and our maidens to stay at a nearby hotel.

Thanks for the plug tip, I'll switch them out.

We had a boil a few weeks ago; crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn, onion, sausage,lemons, old bay and HOT sauce and one too many cold ones to wash it down with.

I'm in an oyster mood now, maybe this weekend.

Of course I could always come up and get some fried bream and cheese-grits!
