OK,
I'm curious as to everyone favorite Flippin Rod. Brand, Length, Weight. I currently use a Quantum Pro Tour 6'10" Medium Heavy rod.
What do you think anout a Fast or Moderate rod tip?

Falcon Grass rod..Heavy 6'10". Use it mostly for punching thru grass, but works well for flipping.
As for rod tip...depends on application. Fast for flipping, moderate for crankin...
I don't flip hardly at all. I pitch cover, but my rod for that is a Loomis IMX 7' Heavy custom built (split grip) with a Shimano Chronarch 100 MG....![]()
Currently use a falcon lowrider 7' mh had bought a custom built st croix legend that had a split grip wrap around eyes from the rods section but usps broke the dam thing I was pissed!!!!![]()

I currenty use a 7'6" shimano crucial with split grip for most of my flipping, but before going to the Red River last year i picked up a 7'9" Carrot stick for the matted water hyacins and loved it for plastics but not so much for jigs....recently ordered a castaway 7"6" Terry Scroggins "Big Show" Recoil flipping rod for flipping heavy jigs, but havent used it yet will put it to the test asap
Powell 765MH for lighter baits (1/4-3/4) and a Powell 7105 MH for heavier baits (1/2- 1.5oz).
I love them both.
765 (7'6)
7105 (7'10)

For actual flipping I use a 8' heavy st. croix legend tournament, pitchin I use a 7' MH st. croix avid or 7' heavy loomis IMX. I just bought a 7' 11" heavy one piece st croix legend tournament, I'm impatiently waiting for it to get here....![]()

Yeah I got a good deal on one a couple years back and didnt really use it too much right away, then once I started using it I fell in love with it, then I got 3 more last year, then 2 more this year, I'm slowly getting rid of my avids and getting LT's, they are awesome!![]()

I like the Kistler Helium HE76HC.
Reason why is becuase, for a heavy power rod, it still has some tip, and has somewhat of a moderate action to it. That's a BIG plus when "pitching" (I don't flip) with braided line. I think you need that little "give" in the rod when using braid.
