    That's my guess.

So if I want to install a system like "cook's", I can cut that stuff to install and should be good to go..

I have both Cook's and Easy view systems in mine. No need to cut anything. Just drill thru it into the aluminum brace and use the screws. Just don't drill up thru the lid itself...

Why would you want to insulate a rod locker or a storage compartment?

here is how i did my Cooks Go To Tackle system in my boat and it has the foam under the lids
on the side lockers you can jsut screw them right to the brace thats in the lid
on the center compartment you can drill 2 extra holes in the center of each Cooks Rail and use those to screw the rails to the brace that runs the length of the center locker lid

After seeing Luke's pix I see what you are talking about. On the earlier Elites, we have carpeting inside our lids.

Luke is kinda showing a tendency of OCD ... don'tcha think?

Why not? In some areas, plastics, and other stuff, can be adversely affected by heat...

Inners on my insulated '05 compartments are way cooler than those on my '90 model...which were not insulated...

Fred...If you want, you can crawl in there and take a nap...it would depend on the season whether or not you want insulation...

    Luv ya!!!!

Not Her's it is climate controlled. Heat and air. Just can't hide money. And Lea if I was to crawl in the locker to take a nap you'd need a Lift truck to get my butt out!
