Great boat. Little slower than the 198. 67 on an average day. 70 if it is set up perfect. TONS of storage, no blowing around and very good hole shot. Even a little better ride than the 198 in the big waves....
I own a 2007 Champion 200 DCX Elite 225 Pro XS and it is my third boat. This one will be with me for a long time. I bought it brand new and have absolutly no regrets what so ever.
The 200 is not the fastest boat on the water but if you are not a speed demon its the best boat on the market. It rides superb and does not blow around in the wind at all. I run a Motorguide Tour109 and have never been in need of more power on the bow and ive fished some big time wind here in Cali.
Im 44 years old and dont need to race allthough my average speed of 68-69mph is enough for me with two passengers and a light tournament load. By myself this boat does 72 mph. Some of the 200 Champions have a hull hook on the rear end of the bottom which can easily be noticed by running your hand accross the bottom from front to back. The manufacterer paid to have mine redone.
You wont be sorry if you choose the 200 Elite. It is by far the best rough water boat i have ever driven and the great thing about it is that it is mine.
Good luck! Big Ed!

The few 200s which had the hook were the earliest 2007s. Most of them should have had the hook removed by now...None of the later ones have the issue. I ran one last summer....I really liked it!!!!
Ed is right on...............I don't have anything else to add to what he said. Excellent layout but not a 75 mph boat loaded down. Mid 60's all day long fully loaded full tank of gas and livewells full. Mark Croxton blue printed a 4 blade for me and now I am 68 -69 with an extremely heavy load this time of year.
Awesome boat. Can't really add to what others have said. I had a 193 before the 200 and they are night and day different. The 193 was like a sports car and the 200 like a caddy. IMO you can't do better than the 200.![]()
