    I think I may have a problem

I was waxing my boat after a tourney the other day and noticed on the back passenger side at back corner there were a spider web of little cracks. There was no dents or marks like I had hit something and they are on the top where metallic stripe is and not down where you would normally hit somthing. Do I need to have it checked out and who would i take it to?

Wouldn't worry about it. All glass boats get stress cracks. My 05' has a couple as well. Only boats that don't get them are like Lea's. The ones that never get used.

I have a couple on the deck near the locker lids from bearing the weight of my fat ass!!!!! Other than that I have NO stress cracks on the hull of a well used 2000 model champ. This one isn't babied and has held up well.

That boat is too babied! It's used hard and tons of fish caught, but it's babied/pampered, the whole nine yards!

medicine man do you have any pics of your cracks,, although i have yet to see any glass boat w/o some cracks over time..i have come to the conclusion that any glass boat that doesnt have a crack is a boat that only stays in calm waters..But we all hate to look at them no matter how old the boat...

    Re: I think I may have a problem (FEARTHETURTLE210)

I just went through this. My 206 had some cracks on the port rear side in the flake gel on the top cap. I thought they were stress cracks until one of the guys noticed an ever so slight bend in my fender directly below the cracks. Some a-hole backed into my boat and it was on the trailer so could have been in the storage yard or even one of the club guys.

You can tell by the picture of Lea's boat, the only time it's been out of the garage is on the way home when she bought it.

    Re: I think I may have a problem (203)

I have some stress cracks in my 187. A couple on the bow and a couple under the front hatch lids. When I first saw them I almost had to get a paper bag and breathe for a while. But now that I've seen them a few times I think they ad character, like an old vintage guitar. 50 mph across some chop is bound to make something suffer a bit.

I'll get some close up pictures as soon as possible. It is usually dark now when I get home from work and I'm spending every weekend at our deer camp.

...And Lea you know I'm just joking

    Re: I think I may have a problem (milly@candoparts)

Sammy I will send you pictures just as soon as I can. Also I have a place up around my trolling motor where the old one was mounted that left some grooves that I would like to get fixed. The next time I will have a chance to take some pictures will be around Thanksgiving and I will send them to you.
