    2006 200HO oil leak??? Gurus?

I have a 2006 E200DXSDS 200HP HO Serial# 05118655 with about 50-60 hours on it. I had to replace the original(double platinum) plugs with the QC10WEP Iridium plugs as the center plugs on either side of the engine had the center electrode severly worn and had a rough idle. Runs good now. However, when I had the engine cover off I noticed a trail of liquid running from the front of the engine towards the back. I removed the air box from the front of the engine that covers the 3 throttle bodies and there was probably 3-5 ounces of greenish-blue oil in it that had been seeping out. Does anyone know where it could have come from? The throttle bodies at the time did not appear to be draining into the airbox when I had the motor in the trailering position, but I have to assume that is what happened. Any info would be greatly appreciated-I hate to find a dealer at this time of the season.

    Welcome to the BBC.
As a guess, I would say out of the throttle plates.

Is this normal or common? What causes it and can it be fixed?

I must add that I trailer the boat and store in with the motor up in the trailering position. I did not think there could be that much residual oil in the combustion chambers that would drip forward. I have assumed all the oil was burnt in every charge. Do the E-Tecs pump oil at shutdown and if they do, why no smoke on initial startup? Anyone else seen or heard of this?
    Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. It is okay to have oil in the breathers but if it is leaking out into the cowling, you have a crack in the seam of your air box. it is fixed under warranty at your local dealer.

Oil in the air box is normal but take a good look for any other source.

Store the engine as close to verticle as possible. This will help alieviate some of the oil out flow. The oil is not from the combustion chamber, it is usually just what is left around the intake area. But take a close look, usually there is not much residual that gets out as on the DI' engines.
