Older Fenwick Needed. Check your Garage Please

    Guys,

I am looking for discontinued/older style Fenwick Spinning Rod. They have changed their design and action on the new versions of the rod and don't like it as much. Please let me know if you have a 7' ML Spinning Rod you are willing to part with. Model number is HMXS 70 ML 1/8-1/2oz. 4-12lb line.

Here is a pic. I am looking for the one with Gold/Red Threading and markings not the gold/maroon.

I have the same rod in a 6'6" and no way in the world I would ever part company with it. If and when I ever break mine I am sure that I will feel your pain!

i have this newer model as well but the action is a little different for being the same model number. I have searched about every website out there for one.

Check out some of the walleye sites, those were popular with those guys, I will check with some of my rodbuilding partners and see if any of them have any laying around, but their stuff is probably older blanks than what your after.

I have an older HMG model GS 70ML. Carbon veil graphite and with real cork handle, not the newer composite stuff. Very similar. 1/8 to 5/8 lure and 6 to 12 lb. line. Still new in factory wrap. Had it put away for if I ever break the one I use but don't fish much anymore due to health.

I just tried calling Fenwick to see if they could help me with information about this rod and or blank info, and they told me that too much has changed since then and the they do not keep records of older models in their system. Hmmmm, I am almost at the point where I am just going to have another rod builder try for me. Also, i did post this on a walleye forum, so we will see what happens.
