Bubbling on my GELCOAT on my 98 - 202 Elite?

The lower portion of my hull has hardened bubbles in my gelcoat. I never really noticed them before I put them on a lift at the dock.

Anyone have any ideas about this? Any other Champion owners seen this before?

    98- 202 Elite DCX.
    Thanks
    Brian

I've seen posts on this before. Hopefully, someone will come along who remembers the stories...

    Thanks

I did a few searches but got nothing back. I would guess someone would know. My boat is new to me but not new by any stretch. I am most likely out of luck as I would think few manufacturers would want to hear about blemishes on a 10 year old boat.

    Hopefully someone else can post.

its called Blistering.....not really a hull problem but mainly water getting under the clear.....jsut a cosmetic thing really.....most of the time you see it on the bottom of the hull where the boat sits on the bunks

I just got this boat about 6 or 8 months ago. I know the previous owner was in the Military and kept it on a trailer.

It hasnt spent any extended time at all in the water which made me ask the question. I was going to call the factory after posting here to see if they had any suggestions to remove it. Its such a pretty boat, and I would like to get it fixed.

Im not sure if the boat even has a warranty on it at this point.

I don't think it will have a warranty. It was built in Mtn Home, AR..prior to the bankruptcy/buyout and move to Tennessee. Nevertheless, you have a good one!!!! If you are concerned and want the bubbling removed, any GOOD glass shop should be able to do it. Easiest if it is not flake...but can be done regardless..

Not sure about your area, but we have a really great place here in Virginia Beach....and another is in Garner, NC. Someone in the VA/NC forum, the NC/SC forum, or the Central NC forum will know of others......
