Disconnected VRO oil line, do I unplug wires too?

I'm helping a friend disconnect the VRO on his '87 GT200 E200STLCUA. So we plugged the oil line going into the VRO, do we need to unplug the wires coming out of it so we won't get the oil alarm? Or how else do we do it? Can we remove the vaccum switch too?
    Thanks.

Disconnect the VRO harness and the oil tank harness. Do not disconnect the vacuum switch.
