    Tilt not working

    Johnson Javilen Motor 100hp
    Mid 1980's model
    model #: 100TLR79S
    serial #: J5142533

The motor will no longer lift. When I press the tilt up I can hear a "click", but the motor does not try to lift, nor do i hear anything. When i release the Tilt up, i hear another "click". When pressing the tilt down, nothing appears to happen...no noise whatsoever. Would really like to be on the lake tomorrow morining. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    God Bless!!!

    Re: Tilt not working (CIDGCN002)

Follow the wiring from the t&t motor (between the transom clamp brackets) to the engine wiring harness connector underneath the motor cover. The wires will be green and blue. Use a couple of nails or small screws to contact the terminals in the connector and provide 12 V from a battery. If you hook the blue wire to +12V and the green to ground the trim and tilt should go up. Reverse the wires and the t&t should go down.

If it works when you jump it like I described, the t&t motor is good and the problem is with the relays, switch or wiring.

If it doesn't work like I described, you need a new trim motor.
