    composite material

Does anyone here know what year Cajun started using composite material and on what models? I am asking becasue I have found some rot in the bilge area under where the battery plaform is. I am hoping that this is the only rot. I am trying to figure out the best and easiest way to fix this area.

Got the same problem. I'm workin on just cutting it out and gonna replace it. Cutting it out is the fun part. Got some with the sawsall and now am using a cut-off wheel. slow going. I dont have enough time to be messing with it right now. Hope you get done yours so you can give me pointers.

If you're talking about in the transom, IIRC, it was in 1987, and only in the tournament series AFAIK. Lower line models were added later.

I know my '85 Pursuit didn't have it, and my '87 Paul Elias did.

So, would my 95 Ragin XL have the composite transom then?

my 92 1650 fish and ski has the "lifetime" (composit) transom. Therefore, I believe your 95 does

So, how strong are the composite transoms compared to wood transoms?

You might be able to break one with a sledge hammer if you work at it hard enough.

I don't know what the epoxy material they used was, but it was as hard as a rock. That material was poured/spred over an aluminum grid with 1" (it might have been 2", it was a long time ago I saw a piece of it) square grids.

Your 95 is probably the same material, BUT the company had changed hands by then, and was owned by Genmar. I have no first hand knowledge what they did.

So, based on what I see here, it's a good bet that my '88 Espirit has a composite transom?
