Bilge Pump (How to get to it?)

    I have a 1996 Cajun Espirit 1800 w/ 150 Johnson Fast Strike.

I am looking to add a 2nd bilge pump rigged with alligator clamps and a hose to hang over the side if my main bilge goes out. I understand it is quite difficult to get to the bilge area. Do I have to remove the huge gas tank under the back bench seat to get to the lowest point or is there another access point?

Not sure if the Espirit is quite the same as my Adventure 170, looks like a shorter version of the Espirit.

If so you can remove the back deck, it is just screwed in and maybe some glue around the livewell. Then unscrew the side board on the battery compartment to give you access to the bildge. It's not much room but gives you a enought to reach in. Hard part is you can not see while you have your arm reaching in, so you gotta feel around quite a bit.

Splashwell is just ahead of the transom before the first compartment. Catches the backwash water and lets it drain back out in the lake.

WOW, you guys were right about the bilge area!! I had to grow go-go gadget arms to even reach a flippin' thing. Talk about tight!! It took a day for the blood to return back to my feet after standing on my head an entire day. Thanks for the help.

Everthing in my 1996 Cajun Espirit 1800 is located under the 2 trolling motors. Must remove small block of wood under batteries and there she be!!
