202 blazer 200hp Johnson set up and prop question

I just got a new GPS -depthfinder for Xmas. I had always used the speedometer in the dash for reference and it read about 72mph along with the rpm gauge. It seems like the dash unit is way off. GPS says about 64mph, 5500rpm at WOT. My set up: stock 200hp Johnson, 26" 3 blade raker, 10 inch slide master jack plate. Looks like about 2 inch below pad. I believe the GPS is correct. I have not had this boat long enough to play much, but i have been raising the last couple times to the lake. I have access to a 24" 3 blade raker. Just wanted to ask if anyone has experience with this set up and would be willing to make some suggestions.
oh, one more question, when towing, i noticed that the boat bounces a lot, It bounces with the gas tanks full or empty....air pressure in the tires are at speck...any ideas?

thanks for your help in advance,
    tim

From what I have seen 202/200 combos should run 71-73. First thing I would do is run a compression test on the motor, if it checks out either buy a 15" plate or add some 2" spacers. The Raker props are not bad props and should run decent on your set-up. Start raising the motor and watch speed and water pressure. As soon as either start dropping stop. Keep in mind if you set it up with a light load you may need to drop it a little to run its best with a load. Shoot for 5800rpm and 71+ mph. Oh, welcome to the BBC!!!

OK, will get the compression checked. it runs good, just put new plugs in it. You mentioned getting "some 2 " spacers. Does this mean I can stack 2 spacers together on both sides? I will be running the 24 raker soon to get the rpm's up closer the 5800

I would go ahead and buy some 4" spacers. 14 or 15 inches is where they perform the best.
