Finally made it back and need some Blazer tips...

Well I finally made it home from Africa and have been out in the new 210 trying to get used to it. My question for the experienced drivers out there is this, How the heck do ya'll handle this damn chine-walk crap. My last boat was a Champion and we all know that they drive themselves so I am not used to a boat having to be watched carefully. Everyting is fine till I hit about 75 then all hell breaks loose. I have tried everything I can think of with the hydraulic plate and the trim, evening out the load in the boat and the tanks but about the time I get it to stop it starts up again. I know that I need some seat time to get used to it, but unfortunately I dont have that luxury since I will be heading back out of country in about another 3 weeks and I would sure like to see if my prop and setup are correct. If anybody can please give me some step by step instructions on how to get past the chinewalk I sure would appreciate it. I have tried to feel for the start of the chinewalk and move the steering wheel back and forth sharply but this only stops the problem for a couple of mph and then it starts again, but worse the next time. I have the hydraulic set as high as I feel comfortable with about 15 psi at 5100 with a heck of alot of peddle left. My prop is a trophy, thank god there aint a tempest or a TXP on it right now with the way it is walking, I'd probably of killed myself already Also it seems as if there is alot of torque tring to turn the boat to the right for some reason, sorry for the stupid questions but this is my first out of 5 bass boats that will hit above the 70mph mark and I would really like to be able to handle this beast.

I have an 05 190prov and 200xs opti turing a tempest, mine was doing the same thing, I was over trimming. Start by trimming up slowly as your increasing speed. I matte mine and come up with the trim slowly until it gets on the pad. I think it will help. All the torque your experiancing could be because the motor is too high. Don't get discouraged you will get it. I have had mine since May, still learning.

Hang in there. Nothing replaces seat time. My 210/300hpdi took some getting use to. You will find a sweet spot on the trim but every boat is somewhat different. Heck, I scared myself and my wife to death the first time I opened up my 300. After a couple hours I was able to find a spot at a little more than 3/4 trim where it seemed to drive itself. Like yourself, all my previous boats would not run fast enough to need any driver input at all. I kept trying and trying to drive it and finally it paid off. Now that 80mph is easy I want to go even faster. My advice is "SEAT TIME" and be careful till you get the feel of it!

Try adding water to the live well until you get the feel of it. When you get the boat up and running and the chime stops you can NOT stop driving the boat I think that may be the reason that it starts again.

Bring it on up to Wheeler lake and I will try and get you learning the driving but seat time is the biggest helper. The fishing sucks right now so about all we have been doing is playing with boat set ups the last few weekends. When I run mine single I keep the passenger tank full and run off the drivers tank.

Adding water to the livewells like spider said is also a big help when learning. The best thing I can tell you is to go out with no rods and just run up and down the lake till you get it. When you figure it out you will wonder why it took you so long.

Best thing is seat time! there's nothing better just ease into it and when you start walking dont over correct! you can feel what she's doing and go with it! Take it eazy and be careful you'll get there.

OK ya'll I think I've got it. My major problem was I was over trimming the boat. Man this boat is awesome. Still working up the courage to hit top-end, but I think that I am close now. I appreciate all of the good advise and thanks again...

Spider anytime you want to get out and hit Wheeler or Guntersville or have a few cold beers give me a shout. I am on Wheeler 3-5 days a week and hit the big "G" a few times a month.

The fishing on Wheeler sucks right now but Guntersville has been pretty good.

I know your not wanting to hear this, but seat time will clear this up. I was in your shoes at the beginning of the year. This sounds corny, but you have to be ONE with your boat, and this comes with time.
