I bought a Senko type of injection mold and make my own. I can add as much salt and flavor I like. I have not noticed any differences in the amout if fish I catch with either bait. Even though I make my own, I still have a bunch that I had purchased before. The Senko is a great bait and they are loaded with salt that is why the tear so easly. I also will repair them by heating up an exacto knife blade and running it through the tears and it melts them back togethere great. Also a great way to add a different color tail to a bait. When melted the plastic will attach to each other like it was poured that way.

wow I have tried almost all of the senko style baits I could find and I have to agree with most GYCBs work the best, bass pro has a good one also, I dont really like the way tikki baits fall, but only had a couple of bags of them, but hey use what ya brought LOL

I use the Head Case from Paycheck Baits. Works good. I would feel that freezing the senko will kill some of its action.

I'm still a big fan of Senko's. The Yumdingers work about as well, but they do not come in some of the colors that are really good, like the green/white. If you use a 4 - 5 ought hook with the screw attachment, they last a little longer. An article in Bass Masters Magazine a few years back compared all the top brands of Senko style worms and they all were relatively close of time of fall. One may be better than another at certain times during the spawn. Same is said for any crankbait, buzzbait, or topwater.

The senkos sink better than most because of the density and weight in the plastic and salt mixture

No other brand matches the senkos characteristics and that is why they catch more fish
Also cast farther due to there weight

Obviously, this is not a flaw, rather its my guess they are designed this way to sell more lures.

I've found the Lakes Brand to be just as good at catching bass, they last better than twice as long, cost about half what the Sinko's do AND are sold at Wally world. In my humble opinion, the Sinko's are a rip-off!! I get totally PO'ed everytime I try to fish with them....NO MORE...
Chopper to make them last a long time when wacky rigging use O-rings. Can get them on ebay real cheap.

Nemesis Baits Sicko is by far the best I've used. I use Yamamoto only in emergencies if I run out. Whatever brand you use, buy a mold and just melt and re pour your broken ones

I do this too but I use small(1/8) pieces of milkshake straw. Works great.

I went out this morning and caught 13 bass and only went through 4 Senkos. After they start sliding off the head of the hook, I bite off about 1/2 inch from the tip and rethread the hook. After that end starts getting nasty, I turn it around, bite off a little from the small end and thread it on the hook backwards. Once the Senko is down to about 4 inches long I put on a new one. The fish don't seem to care and still bite them like crazy. I save the 4 inch leftover for wacky style and it still works great.

I stick with the Yum Dinger's since they are on sale so often at BPS and Walmart. Few bucks for a pack. I just rig them wacky style anyways. Skip the hell out of them and rarely lose one unless the fish rips it off. I can't see spending more for the GYCB Senko's. Both work equally as well for me and the colors I need are offered by both manufacturers.

One tip I have is a lot of people will just cast, let fall and retrieve if they didn't get a bite on the fall. I like to let it fall and sit on the bottom for a 10-15 seconds. Give it a little twitch and let sit again. Yesterday I was killing it with this presentation. Would not get a bite on the fall, only after letting it sit.

Maybe I am doing something wrong...I can catch a crap ton of fish on "1" senko. I mainly throw wacky with an o-ring. But I have found that I only buy senko's in certain colors and the majority of sticks I use are the SK ocho's which last at least 5-10 fish each. The cold trick will be tried for sure. have fun be safe.
