Hey Fellas,
I need some input on optima battery sizes...are the size 34 batteries sufficient for tournament use for a 24V system with a 70lb MK? I am trying to save as much weight as possible. Also, I am planning to install a alternator kit and a phase charger so the batteries get a quick charge while I'm going down the lake. All comments appreciated. Thanks.

I just went to a 3.0 liter and needed to cut weight, so I went with 3 optimas, 1 bluetop, and 2 yellow's for trolling. They are 35 group and the weight savings are good and plenty of power and endurance, I fish 1-2 tournaments a month and they work fine and last all day..

I only run two batteries and they are the group 24 blue tops. (D34M). I have a 24v tm and crank off of one of them. I have a simon altenator on my 260 but not running it at the moment.

I have the same set up as Coota with a 280 instead of a 260 and haven't had any problems. I was worried about doing it that way but it has been just fine with me fishing all day and being on the troller on high in the grass. And when I say on the troller, I am talking about on the troller. We fish a bunch of lakes with alot of grass down here.
