Did anyone go to the grand opening for the new Cabela's in Wichita?
It opened on a Wednesday. Did not go, but news reports showed people lined up to get inside. Governor Brownback was there and spoke. Had a friend go there late that day and then again on Sunday. Said it was crowded both times, but he liked the fishing section.
The following Monday it started raining about noon, so I thought hmmm ... It's been 5 days, it's afternoon and it's raining.... maybe it won't be so crowded, so I took off from work and went. Well, the parking lot was still full and I had to wait for someone to leave to get a spot and it was the farthest from the door; luckily, I had taken my umbrella. Went straight to the fishiing section. It was very crowded. I soon realized that the reason for that was teenagers were on spring break and there with their parents to shop. The aisles were narrow and wouldn't you know it, everything I wanted to look at was down low and I had to kneel down to see it. Then someone would want to get by and I would have to move. I bought some drop shot stuff and a few other things and got out of there. Perhaps the shopping experience there will improve when some of the initial rush is over. If they continue to draw customers at the present rate, they didn't build a big enough parking lot.
its a nice store i guess , the prices are too high , everyone around my area [60 miles from the store] have said that mikes pro bass -- a bbc sponser--- was cheaper on everything . and you are supporting a bbc sponser and a local business . just my oppinion .
Yeah, I passed on some of their high priced merch, like $16 for the new Jackall squarebill and the large McSpro stick, $13.50 for the 4 1/2" McSpro stick, and $4.29 for a mop jig. No thanks!
and you are also paying a higher tax after the price due to helping them on a parking lot or something arent you ?
