Does anyone run props other than raker/renegade? The guys that run Tempest+ and Trophys all seem to love em, but I never see them on rude's. If you do run a different prop could you tell what it is and why you like/dislike it.
Thanks!![]()

I've got quite a few customers running tempest's on Rangers, Stratos, etc with 200/225's that just love them. You have to play with the plugs to get your right though.
I have run Merc Lab Finished Tempest plus, several Trophy plus, TXP and Powertech props on my 06 225 ho etec, as well a Raker II's. For my rig, Legend 199, the Trophies are my choice. Why? they are both faster and handle much better than the others on my rig. If you do choose to try a Merc prop my suggestion would be to use a Michigan wheel XHS100 hub kit to insure a proper fit as it took me ~6 Merc hub kits to get one to fit properly whereas all the XHS kits have fit perfectly.

I have a 2003 150 ficht on an 1984 176s/s dynatrak w/6" hydro jack. Just haven't been too happy with the rakers on this setup. I need lots of lift. Any suggestions?
I only know what worked on mine.. Would suggest asking that in the "set up" forum. There are a bunch of very knowledgable guys over there. Be sure to give them all your stats so they can help you out.![]()
You may also need to check for the proper hub kit for your motor.
digger what pitch are you running and how old is the prop? on your dyna trac you may be able to go with a smaller pitch as it is a light boat compared to our heavy handed ones. also send the prop( raker) off to Mark and tell him what you are looking for and he will work with you best part is he wont ask for money till you are happy, which I have yet to see any who wasnt.

Best porp on mine has been a Trophy plus.....
I love the Tempest Plus w/ all but one plugs removed for all around performance and holeshot. However, I still like the Raker 26 that was reworked by Mark's Props for ETEC HO speed!![]()

I run a Trophy Plus on my 520 with a 225HO. I like the prop cery much and you can buy them right. I'll send it to Mark soon to be blueprinted. He did a Raker for me and it is awesome.
I have a 28 raker2 and a 28TXP that I switch out based on how I feel that day....Both run identical numbers, but the raker2 lifts a lot better. I need to get them both worked.
I run a 29 Tempest, it lifts the boat well and carries great speed. I tried a 28 raker 2. Excellent holeshot with the raker, just no where near the topend speed of the tempest.

Hmm, maybe I need to get my hands on a 29 Tempist. I ran the Raker2 today, 30 gallons of fuel, all my tackle, 79.4 at 5900....
24 Tempest, 25 tempest and a 24 turbo 2+2. Currently run the 24 Tempset. Good holeshot, excellent bow lift and best top speed (67.7) The turbo has excellent holeshot and all around good prop but the tempest has better bow lift and speed.

24 Raker, 25 Tempest, and 25 Trophy. I have had as issue with the Trophy...spun hub and thrown blade. I will probably try another brand of 4 blade.
