    NEMA 2000

Does anyone know what I need to hook my 2007 ETec 200HO into the NEMA buss on my 2007 Ranger (or if it is worth doing)? The boat is prewired for NEMA - do I just need a cable to plug it into the buss? If so will I be able to monitor any engine data on my Lowrance LMS332C?

    Re: NEMA 2000 (gravitylow)

All you need is the adaptor cable with the 4-prong end that plugs directly into the feed from the EMM. The engine data will be displayed on your chart. Sorry I lost the part No. but you can order it at your dealer.
Some guys are using a consolidator but mine woks just plugging into a "T" on the bus.

I wonder if it is possible to order the cable online anywhere?

Is it a NEMA 2000 buss or a Lowrance net connection?? Thought the Lowrance net was standard on a Ranger.

I spoke to Rusty63(John) and they are on backorder. As soon as they receive them, maybe, just maybe, Rusty will personally deliver mine for Christmas!

Does the mechanic need to hook the laptop to the engine to get this thing going? or, can I just plug it into the engine, then the lowrancenet and then start pulling up data on the LMS 332?

My boat has the network too.

    Duane,
It's my understanding that it is all plug and play.

    Re: NEMA 2000 (ctepps)

I like it. It lets me share the temp sensor and gps antenna between head units and you can also apply software updates to any unit on the buss from the 332c. If the hookup to the engine works I should be able to display engine data on any of the head units as well - I'm not exactly sure what data will be available yet though. All this data can be displayed as an overlay to the sonar or gps screens. The data can be moved around on the screen and resized as well.

I'd love to see hours, rpms, psi, engine temp, etc. The lowrance EP-10 fuel flow monitor is accurate with fuel usage so I don't need the engine info on fuel use. I'd love to just plug a network cable into the engine and it work!

    Re: NEMA 2000 (Duane Harper)

I think the mechanic has to set engine trim limits with a laptop. If you want water pressure, you'll have to add a pressure transducer to the engine. Other than that I think it's pretty much plug and play. It's been a while since my mechanic set mine up so my memory is a little fuzzy on it. I'll ask him and reply later if he has anything to add.

All in all. I like the system a lot. I've got twin 175 ETECs with a 3.5 inch and a 2 inch gauge per engine. I also have a LCX-111C head unit w/airmar B260 transducer, the Lowrance LRX-5000 5' open array radar, Bennett Trim tabs with NMEA 2000 position indicators, EP-50 storage device for advanced fuel management functions, water pressure transducers for each engine, LRA-2000 gps module and 3 EP-15 fluid level sensors for fuel tank level and each oil tank level.

    It's a super slick system.

    Re: NEMA 2000 (Duane Harper)

Duane, if you want to use the EP-10 to monitor fuel you have to have a device like an LMF-200 gauge which allows you to "unset" the engine and configure the EP-10 device as the fuel monitor. I'm not sure if any of the chartplotters alone will do this. Other than that you just plug in.

Can you hook up a 04 Evinrude 225 HO to an X19c in this way too ? I'd love to see engine temp etc at the console. It's getting to the point that you need to be an electrical engineer to set up a bass boat !

    I purchased mine from http://www.ishopmarine.com.
They had the best pricing. Much lower than any dealer.

    Re: NEMA 2000 (gravitylow)

I'm not an expert on this system by anymeans but I am reseaching as hard as I can go as I can go. I have a customer that want's to install Lowrance net on a Ranger 619 and he told me it is already installed on the hull. From what I have seen on the site the 400 is the gauge to have.

You won't be able to pull "Real" engine info down to the gauge (diag info), but you will have all the Needed opereational info on it, which is pretty cool, and if you don't want to use the gauge you can display it on a GPS/Sonar unit from what I can see. Too bad they don't move that info to the Eagle line, I'm cheap.

    Re: NEMA 2000 (ChampioNman)

It looks like the motor-headunit adapter cable part number might be 763517.
    Good reading!!

Indeed, the 'Rude I-Command, which is produced by Lowrance, has more
functionality that the software pukes at 'Rude created and won't share (at
    this point) w/ Lowrance.

    Re: NEMA 2000 (MigAz)

True- use 763517, interface cable and tee, to connect the E-tec to the Ranger lowrance backbone. The backbone is already terminated at the bow and stern so the connection is plug and play.
The head unit wil display standard NMEA data. Tach, engine temp, fuel flow, engine hours, battery volts, and a few other minor things.
You will not get trim as that requires the special igniton tirm harness - but the boat already has a trim gauge. You will not get water pressure as that requires a special presssure sensor to be installed on the engine - but the boat already has a water pressure gauge.
These 2 things mean no setup required with a laptop.

What's a software puke? Are you diss'in Evinrude? Is it a bad thing for a company want want somthing for intellectual property when the NMEA standards gives stuff away?
