There a guy who had the false alarm on a 175 over on the FS forurm and his mechanic tie wrapped the sensor to for it stayed snug. That fixed his problem. You might try that also. I remember him saying that his mechanic though there was some harmonic or something at certain rpms that might cause the false reading on the sensor and the tie wrap fixed it.

That was me that had the false low oil alarms on one of my 175's. I put the tie wraps on the sensors myself. This was done when the engines had less than 10 hours on them. I had no more false alarms after that. When I took my engines in for their first 300 hour service, a new MAP was installed in the EMM and my mechanic got a false alarm when he re-started the engines. BRP decided to install new oil pumps as a precaution. They were overnighted and installed by my mechanic before he returned my boat from the 300 hour service. I'm now at 550 hours and have had no additional false alarms or problems of any kind for that matter.

From my perspective as the user, my engines have performed precisely as advertised. They've been in for exactly ONE 300 hour service and have required nothing else (other than the two tie wraps I mentioned above). The tie wrap effort took me all of 5 minutes and was performed while I was sitting at the fuel dock. That was the only time I've even removed the cowlings from them.

According to my mechanic, there was a fair amount of noise about some (not all) of the early released 60 degree V-6's having false low oil pressure alarms. I've detailed my accounts on the net at a few sites and a handful of other owners have contacted me personally about it via email as well. So, I would tend to believe that there were some issues with some of them at least initially.

My mechanic also told me that there was a very minor amount of recent noise about a handful of 90 degree V-6's having some false low oil pressure alarms. Oddly enough, I didn't hear of any of this during the 2005 season when they were released. I put 700+ hours on a 250 last season and never had a false low oil alarm. I know many others who own 2005 and early 2006 90 degree V-6's also and to date, none that I can remember have contacted me about false low oil pressure alarms. It makes me wonder if perhaps there was a recent change made in the formulation of the XD-100 oil or perhaps the oil pumps and/or sensors. That's just a wild guess on my part though.

Back in July when my MAP update and oil pumps were installed, my mechanic told me that for the 60 degree motors, a MAP update for the EMM and possibly (but not definitely) new oil pumps were required for those motors that had false low oil alarms. He said that for the 90 degree motors that had problems, the MAP update for the EMM was all that was needed.

I also believe he told me that it was up to the individual dealer to specifically request these updates from BRP. I don't think that a dealer can download these from their DealerPort terminal on the internet either. They come on a CD via US Mail from BRP.

Sorry for the long post but maybe something in there will prove useful to you. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

    E200DHXSD, E200HCXSD

3030343 94040HO 10/2/2006 586707 200HO / 90° SOC,SOG,SDF,SDR,SDS,SUA,SUC,SUG This software improves oil pulse detection, adds tps out of idle range fault (code 11), and fixes an issue causing a random high speed misfire.

The pulse dectection was set pretty high in the emm map which was causing some isolated false warnings depending on the type of oil used. Is this map installed because there are no claims made for map updates on your engines. It came out on 10-2-06

    Hope this helps.

If you have this map already they may want to change the pressure sensor which only currenty comes with the injector.

I had the same problem (no oil alarm) for about the first 15 hours at the lowest throttle setting after the first 10 mnutes or so of the trip. We have to idle ut of canals for about 15 mintues. I would restart the motor and everything would be fine for the rest of the trip. This happened about 3 times. I changed to the XD100 oil at the XD50 setting and it stopped. I drained the oil myself about down to 20% of the level of the oil tank.
