Got a new 90 h.p ETEC!

I bought a 90 ETEC a couple of weeks ago to repower a 1970's era Boston Whaler. I decided to get a new gas tank which had to be ordered and had to do a few things before I could go out the first time. I took it out yesterday and I am VERY impressed!

The motor replaced a conventional Evinrude 2 stroke and it is amazing how far outboard technology has come since the old motor's day. I have never been around an outboard like this ETEC! It starts up like a car....no smoke whatsoever. It idles smooth and quiet, and it is plenty fast. Noise levels at various RPM's seems to be on a par with the 4 strokes I have been around....at least much quieter than the old outboard.

Of course I have not had it and used it long enough to to know how it is going to hold up, but if it can keep running like it did yesterday I will be very happy!

I'm envious of that Whaler/e tec combo. When I was shopping last year I looked at a couple. I ended up buying an aluminum boat instead, but one day I will have a Whaler. They of course are few and far between in NM, but there is a dealer in CO. Which Whaler do you have? Do you have any pics?
