    BPH issues

Anyone else dealing with this. Does the Flowbase or whatever the pill is called work? Im pretty sure Im at what I would call stage 2. In retrospect Ive had overlying conditions with post op hernia numbness and back problems that have masked stage 1 symptoms for years. Im uninsured and am trying to get a referral with a doctor I know.

Ya really got to see the doc - so many variations on what to do it's not wise to self prescribe.
    So many honey-dos . . . . . so little motivation

Nerve racking. I passed the physical pending blood work. Everything is normal for someone 53. Seems my stress point is my groin. Some peolpe get headaches or tight shoulders. I get pain in my groin.

To answer your first question .... Yes, FloMax does work. Some suffer side effects and some don't. I can't take it. It causes my sinuses (yeah I know, wrong end!) to close and I can't even breathe. There is a generic out there that is the same thing (tamsulosin) that sometimes can be taken if FloMax causes you problems. Thankfully, I'm not taking anything anymore and am doing fine without it. Hope your PSA comes back good.

As a side note .... my Urologist diagnosed my severe back pain and problems urinating (this is embarrassing) as BPH and gave me FloMax. I took tamsulosin in some form or another for a couple of weeks, and it helped everything but the pain I was having. We finally found out that I had a severe prostate infection and that was causing most of my problems. Three weeks of Cipro and I was good to go.

I'm not saying to go against your Urologist's suggestions, but it might be a good idea to ask if there is the possibility of an infection. If that is the case, it won't ever clear up unless you treat it.

    Re: BPH issues (Hair Jig)

Thanks. I have 2 close friends who had prostate cancer in the last 13 months. One had symptoms and the other failed his PSA. Ive had the pain for years and always associated it with my back condition. Pending the blood work Im not scheduled with a urologist yet. If I had medical insurance and was having routine physicals this stuff would of been dealt with years ago. This is the major downfall to being self ewmployed in this economy right now. When times were better I could of afforded some kind of coverage. Im fortunate Im able to see the doctor I know on an emergency basis.
