    Electrical ? on a new 2006 225 HO E-Tec

I noticed that the positive leads to my Trojan cranking battery were starting to get some corrosion on them, so I disconnected the leads and cleaned them. After hooking ALL the leads back up, I couldn't get the engine to crank over or the trim to lift.
Upon depressing the trim switch, I can hear a very faint clicking under the engine cowling from what I assume is the trim motor solenoid. The battery checks out at 13.28 volts so that shouldn't be a problem. I've also reset the leads and checked them for snugness.
Is it possible that something in the E-Tec's EMI says "Don't Work" after the battery has been disconnected?
I'm looking for ideas here, and would appreciate any suggestions.

I don't know if the EMM is doing anything but if I had the problem you're having, I'd hook up to my trucks battery with jumper cables then see if the motor runs or the trim works. Atleast then I would know that it's the battery reguardless of what the volt meter was shoping.

Take the leads back off and clean battery and cables with sand papper and try again. If you don't have a good connection what you discribed will happen.Hope this helps

I actually ended up changing the connector on one of the battery leads. the corrosion had progressed back up inside the cable. Cut the end off, installed new leads and.....Volla!!
    Thanks for the suggestions.
