    Lower Unit/Shifting probs

Hit a stump this weekend while pulling back into the main river I was fishing. Wasn't going fast, but better than idle. Trimmed the motor up and didn't see any damage to lower unit or prop. Noticed later on that when shifting back to nuetral I would have to jog it back into reverse a bit to get it to nuetral. After the tourn when the boat was on the trailer I noticed the milky oil on the motor toter.

Won't be able to get it to the shop for a couple of days this week, but in the mean time does anyone have any ideas what I should be looking for and maybe expecting when I do get it in. I'll be looking for cracks in the unit today when I get home.

    Thanks, Bill

    Re: Lower Unit/Shifting probs (billybass)

if the oil is on the motor toter and you have problems shifting you may have bent the shift rod and the seals are shot. I'd get everything checked out and if you have insurance, let them know.
