    I wish Lowrance.........

Would make a 8 to 10 inch graph with sonar only. No gps or structure scan. Oh yea, and a color display. I seriously dont see why HB or Lowrance doesnt offer this for a lower price. I know a lot of people want the gps up front but I dont use it. I would love to be able to find a big screen, color sonar for an affordable price without all the extras.

That actually would be a good unit to have. I've got a HB 858 on the bow of my Cougar, but I rarely use the GPS function.

I just bought a LCX 37c off of BBC and intend to you use it up front on the bow for Drop shotting only, Whats wrong with that option? Don't want GPS or side scan up there. I have a HDS-8 on my console with side scan , thats all you need.

I wish they'd quit putting any functions on the display units at all.

They should be like the monitor and keyboard on a computer. The sonar, GPS etc. would be in black boxes like an LSS mounted out of the way and interfacing to the display via a standard format so you'd only need a single cable to the display and you could mount as many sonars or GPS units as you want and see any of them from any display in the boat.

The display would be thinner and cheaper with the same or better performance.

I feel like there are a lot of people who would buy a large screen sonar only unit. Im sure it will never happen. The price has gotten out of hand. I want a side scan unit at my dash 1 day but a simple sonar would do up front. I never use a graph except in the winter months.

You would be very surprised how little the price would go down. All they'd really leave out is about $20 worth of little electronic gizmos. The overall price of an item is not totally dependant on just the components used. The overall pricing has to cover the advertising campaigns, the executive salaries, the pro staff, the buildings, the company vehicles, executive jet and the christmas party.

Thats exactly what I was thinking about while typing that Dale. The screen size is proof that supply and demand drives the price up. You know it doesnt cost much at all to go up 2 inches in screen size. My whole point is them going after a market they currently arent tapped in to. Like myself, I would buy a 8 or 10 inch sonar only graph at a decent price but they most likely wont be getting any of my money because Im not willing to spend 2k on one with all the extras.

That's not exactly right, you can have 5, but only two can be turned on at one time. Like the A rig wilkl end up 5 baits, only two with hooks
