    Re: venom 225 (javman225)

Welcome javman!!! As you will find here there are a bunch of great people and will hook you up when ever you need it!!

Sounds like your running pretty good right now hitting 72 with 2 people. I don't know Javelins but sounds real close to your top. Ask in the javelin board and they will give you a better idea on setup and speed.

The renegade is an OMC/BRP prop. The raker, a 3 blade, is also an OMC/BRP prop that you'll hear alot. As far as your motor, from what I gather it's a good engine. Rusty, seahorse or championman can give you a better idea on that. I'm running a 92 Johnson and have no complaints is if it's the age that worries you don't let it!! Run good oil in the engine and lower unit. Keep the maintenance up on it and run her!!! Once again welcome!!!!

Good motor if you keep up with it, pull the #2 carb drain plug and remove the jet record the number also make note if the drain plug is smooth or has a tit on it.. if not order a new set of drain plugs for you carbs and order a new High speed jet 2 sizes bigger. You only need to do the #2 carb.
