    Fishing the BFL?

Thinking about fishing the BFL next year and was wondering how I go about doing that. Will be fishing as a co-angler idk if that matters or not. Thanks for the future advice guys

Simple...pay your money and fish. Find a guaranteed boater to sign up with, otherwise you could be left on the waiting list as there are usually several more co-anglers than boaters sign up. Schedules for next year will be available around September-October. Sign ups begin in December.

So you can fish with the same boater in every tournament if y'all are partners?

No...it's a draw tourney, paired up the night before the tournament. The guaranteed status just gives the boater guaranteed entry and co-angler guaranteed entry.

No, it's a link to guarantee a spot in the draw.

Save yourself the hassle and don't do it.

The Arky division BFL's suck hard.

IMHO the worst run tournament organization around....

So when I sign up I find a guaranteed boater to sign up with before they are all taken

Correct...some boaters don't do it, as there are normally more co-anglers than boaters. However, sometimes its the other way around and they will draw "boat on boat" draws, where the boaters are paired up and share the fishing time/spots/etc. This is why I always have a link.

Also, some of the guys fishing as boaters, won't enter til the last day (after pre-fishing), thus the priority deadline will have already passed.

    Re: Fishing the BFL? (wildkat7)

The BFL is the best run tournament around. I dont care what anyone else says. Just look at how many boats they have on average compared to everything else and that gives proof its a good circuit. Even on a down year they average 80-100 boats per event in the Arkie Division. The 2012 Schedule is gong to be a GOOD one so find yourself a boater to sign up with and come join us. If you cant find a boater make sure to sign up as early as possible because they go by date of entry if there are too many co-anglers or boaters.
