    max speed for fleetmaster

225 pro sx on 21 xd.boat is running 80.4 in the summer with a normal load.should pick up 1 or 2 mph in cold weather. what will a fleetmaster handle before it blows out.i know what mercury says but did they back the numbers down for a little extra insurance.prop shaft is 1 inch below pad.

Re: max speed for fleetmaster (trackman)

I'm running a 2003 21XD with an 04 225 EFI and I've had mine up to 84.2 with a torque master and it hasn't blown out yet. The only difference between mine and yours is I have water inlets in the front of the nose cone but they tell me there good to about 87 mph... so you should be fine and I'm 3/4 of an inch below the pad....

Fleetmasters also have water inlets in the nose I think. http://www.mercuryracing.com/o...s.php

My 200 Opti has the water inlets in the nose. They have been like that for a few years.

Re: max speed for fleetmaster (ep72)

it does have intakes on the front of the fleet master.the only difference i can see between the fleet an torquemaster is the torque tab on the skeg. but they say the torque master has a higher speed rating .or so i have been told?

Re: max speed for fleetmaster (trackman)

the torqmaster have the torque tab on the skeg and come with the fat shaft drive shaft. I think thats the main difference,

If the torqmaster has a higher speed rating its probably from the torque tab. It keeps the boat from"crabbing" keeping good water flow to the prop.

Re: max speed for fleetmaster (rambo274)

I had a fleetmaster on a 200 Pro VEE Bumble Bee and it would blow out at 82 to 83 and it was 1.5 below the pad with 15 inch setback.

I've got a fleetmaster on my gambler. I've had it to 81 with out blow out. And it does have the holes in the nose as well.

it sounds like 82 mph is it on the fleet master.so if i want more i guess its time to find a torque master.

Good question, who else is doing it besides Titus (who tends to be very busy)?

They added the 4 holes to the front of the fleetmasters around 2000.

Bobs machine shop also does cones.
